This introductory labor trafficking 101 presentation will provide an overview of labor trafficking of both US citizens and foreign nationals, and discusses barriers to identification and promising practices for serving survivors.
Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1) Define the legal characteristics of human trafficking and the sociological concept of modern slavery
2) Understand the contours of labor trafficking in Louisiana
3) Identify cases of labor trafficking
4) Respond to a variety of case human trafficking cases, utilizing trauma-informed care model and research-based approaches that focus on survivor empowerment
5) Consider how participants might integrate human trafficking identification and response into their own practice/agency.
