HP Serve: Trauma-informed Care and Human Trafficking 101

  • 4829 Winbourne Avenue Baton Rouge, LA, 70805 United States (map)

At HP Serve, we believe that being able to identify victims of human trafficking or those who are at a high risk of being trafficked is an invaluable resource. We see the behaviors of trauma before we see the pain that it creates. Trauma survivors are often raised in an environment of dysfunction and distrust. The language they use is birthed from this chaos and often translates poorly to those of us trying to serve them. By learning to decode the language of trauma you will better understand the victims and better serve Justice.

Our four main objectives for this training are as follows:

□ Have a better understanding of what trafficking is.

□ Be able to better identify the red flags in trafficking victims.

□ Gain insight into how to speak and connect with victims to meet their needs.

□ Learn how the language of a trafficking victim is filtered through their trauma.

This training is a free training provided by HP Serve.

RSVP BY JANUARY 10, 2018 to Tammara.Crawford@hpserve.org include name of your organization along with number of individuals who will be in attendance.
